Professional Summary
Bruce obtained his Bachelor of Arts from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1975. He then earned his law degree from Louisiana State University, graduating as a member of the Law Review and Order of the Coif (highest academic honors) in 1978. From there, Bruce attended New York University Law School, where he obtained his Master’s degree in tax law, also graduating with honors.

Although originally trained as a specialist in Federal taxation, for over fifteen years Bruce’s practice focused exclusively on matters of state and local tax planning and litigation. Bruce’s practice covered all forms of state tax including income, franchise, sales, use, property, and special taxes. In addition, Bruce serves a management role for the family owned, Oreck Corporation, which manufactures the appropriately popular 8 pound Oreck vacuum endorsed by every member of the Firm.

After nearly 30 years of splitting his time between tax litigation and Oreck Corporation, Bruce recently made a decision to focus on the family business. As a result, he has passed the state tax torch on to the Firm’s current partners: Nicole Crighton, Jay Adams, Adam Chase and Andre Burvant. Bruce has been a great mentor (and still is) to all of us here at the Firm both in Boulder and New Orleans. His knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm for the world of state taxation have been invaluable to us. Bruce maintains an office in the Firm’s Boulder location. He is available for consultation on a limited basis, but due to this change in status, you will find that your questions may be addressed more quickly by one of the Firm’s partners. Additionally, Bruce remains eager to impress crowds of people with his knowledge of state tax. As a result, please continue to call upon him to speak for any state tax organization.
